Concluded with a championship title claimed by Universitatea Craiova after a 35-year hiatus, last season raised the excitement in the stands to new heights. This is based on the TV audience figures for the previous season, which showed significant growth, also confirmed by the impressive number of spectators present in sports arenas.
The previous championship was extraordinarily attractive and thrilling both in terms of the title race and the historic brands fighting for a spot in the European cups and in the play-out. From this perspective, the edition starting on July 18 promises to be an extremely balanced one. With teams fighting year after year for the title and to avoid relegation, with historic brands as well as teams promoted to the Superliga for the first time, the 2026-2027 edition will be one of the most interesting in recent years and the audience growth trends will certainly mark new viewing records.
