DSM Supported the Organization of the First Edition of the Young Tigers Cup
Durby Sports Marketing assisted the Young Tigers Association in Bucharest in organizing the first edition of the Young Tigers Cup on the 4th and 5th of February.
Regardless of participant age, a sporting competition mainly features the same logistics elements, and our company’s experience was welcomed by the organizing club, all the more so as this initiative was put into effect for the first time.
Being held over a two-day period, the competition at the Offsaid Arena complex located in the Berceni neighborhood in the Capital city brought together children born in 2008 and 2010 from a number of five clubs based in Bucharest, the matches being played in a play-off system. As expected, high ambitions and the pleasure of competing led to spectacular matches, similarly perceived through the eyes of the young participants, as well as through the eyes of the parents who supported them from the sideline, even if the protagonists were children who have yet to reach the age of 10.
The older ones, the groups of children born in 2008, fought for the trophy on Saturday, February 4th, representatives of the Young Tigers, Steaua, Capital Sport and ProAktiv clubs lining up for the start. The competition final matched Steaua and Young Tigers, with Steaua coming out as winners with the score of 8-2, after the board only indicated a 2-2 draw at half time, while in the battle for third place, ProAktiv won against Capital Sport.
Sunday, February 5th, on the pitch of Metalurgiei Boulevard assembled the 2010 groups of the Young Tigers, Steaua, Capital Sport and ACS Elite clubs. The representatives of the club playing at home giving way in the race for the trophy before ACS Elite with the score of 4-2 after leading at the halftime break by 2-1. The Final for 3rd place was won by Steaua, just edging out Capital Sport.
At the end of each day each participant was congratulated by Mr. Mircea Pascu, honorary president of AS Young Tigers and former president of the Romanian Football Federation, as well as by famous former international player Miodrag Belodedici, winner of the European Champions Cup with two separate teams, Steaua București and Red Star Belgrade. To the delight of the children, they were awarded cups, medals, diplomas, with the latter being autographed by the former great Romanian international.
