DSM has mediated the agreement between FC Viitorul and TVR for the broadcasting rights
The debut of the Romanian champion team in the UEFA Champions League preliminaries was seen on the silver screen by millions of viewers through DSM.
The tour game of the double derby for the FC Viitorul versus the Cypriot team APOEL Nicosia, the only Romanian victory on the home field in the 3rd tour of the preliminaries of the European cup, was broadcasted live on the first channel of a national television station with DSM playing an essential role in reaching an accord between the club and TVR.
The clash between Viitorul Constanta - Apoel Nicosia, commentated by Marian Olaianos and Emil Hossu-Longin, brought a million viewers to the TVR 1 station who broadcasted the game. On average 937.000 Romanians tuned in on the broadcast which registered an average rating of 5.2% in the 20.59-22.55 interval and an average 13% market share nation-wide. As such, TVR 1 positioned itself on the third place in the ratings rankings for July 26th. In the matter of urban audiences, the 532,000 spectators (average rating 5.5%, average share 13.8%) watched the game in the 3rd preliminary round of the UEFA Champions League, of which 186.000 represented the commercial target (4.1% average rating, 12.8% average market share).
The most viewed moment of the match happened at 22.54 when 1.349.000 Romanians tuned in for the live broadcast of TVR 1 in Constanta (rating 7.5%, national share 21.2%). In the urban section, the most watched minute was at 22.52, when 769,000 people in this segment (rating 7.9%, share 21.1%) enjoyed the victory of Hagi's team on TVR 1. The same minute was also the most viewed for the commercial audience, with 299.000 spectators in the aforementioned segment (rating 6.6%, share 19.7%).
