DSM begins collaborating with Umbro

Building on a decade of experience in promoting the local Samurai brand dedicated primarily to rugby and identifying a potential for growth in the round ball sports equipment segment, Durby Sports Marketing announces the start of the partnership with Umbro, a company that is synonimous with performance and has been for over 100 years.
Shortly after it began operations in 1924 in Manchester, Great Britain, the company equipped Manchester City and Portsmouth in the 1934 FA Cup final, and in 1966 85% of British clubs wore Umbro equipment. Brazil '58, England '66 and 14 of its competitors in another World Cup, Pele and Bobby Moore exchanging shirts in Guadalajara in 1970, Liverpool's European domination in the '70s and' 80s, Manchester United in the crazy final of the Champions League in 1999, all of these events have one thing in common: the Umbro logo was present in the image.

Umbro has a remarkable presence in world football, clubs such as Everton FC, FC Schalke 04, SV Werder Bremen, West Ham United, Blackburn Rovers, FC Santos, Gamba Osaka, Derby County or PSV Eindhoven evolve using the company's performant product.

Following this partnership, DSM will make a complete range of equipment from the prestigious manufacturer available to Romanian football clubs, including complete kits of game equipment, training and presentation for both senior teams and all categories of juniors in clubs and academies.

Starting from scratch, DSM promoted the products and built local notoriety for Samurai, another British company that has delivered kits for national rugby teams, leading divisions and of juniors over time and through DSM. Also, among the beneficiaries were Steaua Bucuresti, RCM Timisoara, Poli Agro Iasi, the National Team of Romania XV and the 7 rugby team, the group of referees for all internal competitions, as well as the official balls with which the competitions were played.

Based on this agreement, Umbro takes another step in meeting the requirements of local customers using the know-how accumulated by Bobby Durbac from inside a football club during his activity as marketing director of FC Steaua Bucuresti, but also as a supplier of equipment and professional services for the clubs from the very first leagues of Romania.
