Stejarii are coming home! DSM lends its support for the inauguration event of the Arc de Triomphe arena
The Arc de Triomphe National Rugby Stadium opens its gates for the first time for Romanian rugby sports fans on July 3, 2021 on the occasion of a gala test match that Stejarii will play in the company of Argentina.
Pumas, as the South American representative is known, ranks 9th in the world rankings, while Stejarii are ranked at 18th, will meet again in Bucharest after 29 years, the last match played here being in 1992, when Pumas won 21-18.
Durby Sports Marketing will be involved in this prestigious event providing specific sports marketing services and supporting the Romanian Rugby Federation in creating a memorable show on the occasion of the return of Stejarii to the new home of Romanian rugby.
The event has a special significance for Bobby Durbac, CEO of Durby Sports Marketing. The first visit of Stejarii on the South American continent took place at the end of the summer of 1973 and, in addition to four other matches against some regional teams, at the end of the tournament, they played two test matches on September 8 and 15, 1973 against Pumas. "At that time, my father, Radu Durbac, was part of Romania's team, who scored 23 of Romania's 57 points in the 6 games”, he said.
