NHL Romanian TV Rights Now Available
The NHL, and the lucrative marketing potential that comes with the world’s top Ice Hockey League could soon be available in Romania.
From now until 2016 Durby Sports Marketing (DSM) will be facilitating the ice hockey giants’ transition into the new territory. This week Advisers Media International (AMI) who owns the exclusive TV rights for NHL in Europe confirmed that DSM can market those rights in Romania. The move heralds a major opportunity for Romanian Broadcaster involvement with the sport.
"My search for a broadcaster who sees the potential of coming to a long term agreement has now begun. The deal covers up to 480 games over the period, with NHL staging their games to facilitate Central European Prime Time TV viewing, as part of their drive to push the sport in our territory. There is a major opportunity here for broadcasters to push their subscriber numbers with this programming. I’m personally delighted for the Romanian fans of this dynamic sport. I believe that very soon they will be able to see their ice hockey idols live on Romanian TV", said Bobby Durbac of Durby Sports Marketing.
