Red–blue celebration at Cheile Gradistei
For the second consecutive year, the golden generation of Steaua, the winning team of the 1986 European Champions Cup, has celebrated this unique triumph in the Romanian football, at Cheile Grădiştei. As last year, on 7th May, the event has excellently been organized by Durby Sports Marketing. The partners of this event had the opportunity to be promoted with athletes who made history in the Romanian football. On this occasion, ARD German Television did a story about Helmuth Duckadam. The reportage will be broadcast before the Champions League final on 25th May 2013.
The star match between Steaua 1986 and the Artists’ National Team was broadcast live on Sport.ro TV. This time, there were no penalties and Steaua team had an emphatic victory with 5-2, three of the red–blue goals being scored by Alex and Andrei, the boys of coach Anghel Iordănescu.
Steaua 1986 was represented by Emeric Ienei, Anghel Iordănescu, Daniel Gherasim, Tudorel Stoica, Adrian Bumbescu, Ilie Bărbulescu, Constantin Pistol, Lucian Bălan, Mihai Majearu, Alex and Andrei Iordănescu, Helmuth Duckadam, Bobby Durbac, while the artists had stars, such as: Kamara, Dani Oţil and Adrian Enache.
The third inning was relaxed and it took place in the restaurant located in Cheile Grădiştei Resort.
On 7th May 1986, Steaua won the European Champions Cup, the most impressive trophy of the European football, after having defeated FC Barcelona, the famous football team, in the final. On this occasion, Helmut Duckadam, Steaua goalkeeper, became a legend and was registered in the Guinness Book of Records, as he defended four consecutive penalties.
