Present at the first test match of the “Oaks” (Stejarii) for the 2023 World Cup
On Friday, July 1, the Arcul de Triumf National Rugby Stadium hosted the first test match played by the Romanian men's rugby team in the preparation campaign for the 2023 Rugby World Cup that will take place in France.
A year away from the official inauguration with the gala match against Argentina, the selected Italian rugby players, a team active in the Six Nations Tournament since 2000, stepped onto the arena's turf. The team that defeated Wales at the Millenium Stadium in the last stage of this year's edition of the most prestigious competition in the northern hemisphere also prevailed in the match at the arena near the Casin Monastery in the first match between the two teams played in Bucharest after 18 years. The Azzurri team knew how to take advantage of two moments of desynchronization of our defense and at the end of the first half they scored two touch-downs in three minutes to turn the table from 5-6 to 19-6, the halftime score. The second half was completely under the control of the hosts, who won 45-13.
At the request of the Romanian Rugby Federation, Durby Sports Marketing was once again involved in the running of the event at the highest levels and provided the services of operating the perimeter LED advertising installation of the arena.
"Regardless of the result on the scoreboard, we are proud that we had the opportunity to be with the "oaks" again at an important event for them. We wish them much success in the next test matches in July, which they will play in Montevideo against the Uruguay national team”, said Bobby Durbac, general director of Durby Sports Marketing.
